Commercial New Construction
We build ground-up commercial buildings and additions for owners and developers. One company carries the job from the dirt work and the pad to the finished building.

A commercial tenant finish out turns a leased shell into a space ready to open. Bankston's Builders takes the whole job for retail and commercial tenants around Fort Worth and the Dallas-Fort Worth area. The scope runs from the roof down: roofing, air conditioning, polished concrete floors, drywall, insulation, doors, cabinets and countertops. One company manages every trade, so the tenant's opening date rides on one schedule.
Our finish out work includes retail store build outs in shopping centers and malls. The same approach carries to other commercial spaces. Where the plans call for a polished slab, our polished concrete floor work runs on the same job. Call or text (214) 557-5106, and we look at the space and put the quote in writing.
Tell us about the land or the building project and where it is. We look at the job and put the quote in writing.
A leased commercial space often comes as a shell: a slab, the outside walls, a roof and the utility stubs. A finish out turns that shell into the tenant's space. That can mean roofing, air conditioning, polished concrete, drywall and the finishes, all under one umbrella.
Each trade depends on the one before it. The roof and the air conditioning units go on before the ceiling closes. Insulation goes in before the drywall, and the floor is polished before the cabinets and countertops land. We hold that order with one company and one schedule.
Sourcing is part of the job. We find the appliances, countertops, garage doors, insulation and roofing the space calls for, then install them. As the tenant improvement contractor on the job, we put the whole scope in one written quote.
The scope often runs past the walls and the ceiling. Our low voltage and AV wiring work runs the Ethernet, the structured cabling, the server racks and the show lighting a space calls for. A space that has burned or flooded comes back through our fire and water damage repair work, which runs as insurance work to the adjuster's scope. A building that does not exist yet is our commercial new construction work, from the pad to the keys.
The City of Fort Worth's Development Services Department issues the commercial building permit. The city's permit page requires one for construction that changes walls, floors, ceilings, windows or doors. Electrical, mechanical and plumbing work needs one too. Cosmetic work like floor coverings, cabinets, countertops and shelving is listed as exempt.
Fort Worth has adopted the 2021 International Building Code and the 2015 International Energy Conservation Code, both with local amendments. The city asks for an energy compliance report when a project installs or alters the HVAC system. Changes to exterior walls, windows, doors or interior lighting need one too. Those reports travel with the plans into the permit review.
The space cannot be used or occupied until the building official issues a certificate of occupancy. That certificate follows the final inspections, which can include building, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire and health. A new type of business in the space needs a new certificate. The permit office answers what your space needs, and we build to the approved plans.
Fort Worth sits at the center of our service area, and the Dallas-Fort Worth area comes first for finish outs. Our commercial work in Dallas covers finish outs and the site work on the east side of the metro.
Heat shapes the air conditioning side of a finish out here. NOAA's 1991 to 2020 normals put Fort Worth's normal daily high near 96 degrees in July and August. The plans size the air conditioning and the insulation for that load. We set the units on the building, run the ducting and finish the roofing around them as one job.
The company that does dirt work around Fort Worth can also build out the structure on a data center campus. That runs from the pads and the access roads to the building and its air conditioning. Our data center site work covers the ground side, and this page covers the build out.
The finish out work has included an Ollie's store built out from the shell and the Hobby Lobby building in the same shopping center, white boxed before the tenant moved in. Both are national brands, and both jobs ran the way every finish out here runs: one company on the roof, the air conditioning, the floor, the walls and the finishes.
The two Feverhub venues in the Dallas Design District, Glow or Go and SENSAS, and the Glow or Go venue in Orlando were finish outs of a different kind: a glow-in-the-dark ball pit, a floor-is-lava room, a sensory lounge and a hallway full of lasers, with custom lighting, a custom storefront, the AV and low voltage wiring, and new air conditioners set on the roof. Our Work carries the job photos from these projects and from a burned-out commercial building brought back as a fire rebuild.

We go over the tract or the space, the plans and the access for heavy equipment. On dirt work we also look at the ground and where the water runs.
The scope and the price go in writing before any work starts. The quote spells out what gets cleared, cut, built or finished.
Machines and crews come in on the set date. On a dirt job the work runs in order: clearing, the pad or the road, the trenches, then the drainage. On a build, the trades follow the schedule.
The ground is left graded and compacted to the plan, ready for concrete, a building or a rig. On a finish out or a custom home, the work runs through to the finished space.

High-end custom homes for select clients, from the pad to the finished house: stonework, custom iron doors, stone arches, fireplaces, custom kitchens, baths and closets. The dirt work and the build stay with one company.

The pad, the concrete and the building can all run through the same company. A custom home starts on a pad we cut and compacted. A commercial project can go from raw land to a finished tenant space.
Developers, oil and gas operators, data center builders and ranch owners all bring us ground to move. Each site gets its own scope, whether that is a detention pond, a lease road or a campus pad.
